Scholarship program aims to help Black tech students

Reason One, a leading full-service digital agency, has announced the commencement of its fourth annual Mentorship and Scholarship Program for Black students across the Province of Ontario and the State of South Carolina. The Reason One Mentorship and Scholarship Program (ROMSP) aims to foster diversity in the tech industry by providing support and opportunities for marginalized communities, thereby nurturing the next generation of diverse leaders.
Open to Black students aged 17-35 enrolled or recently accepted in digital-disciplined programs, the ROMSP endeavours to facilitate access and eliminate financial barriers for those pursuing or planning to pursue careers in technology.
This year’s program will provide a one-year mentorship experience and four scholarships valued at $5,000 each to deserving candidates.
“Reason One’s Mentorship and Scholarship program has supported 12 students to date, providing $50,000 in scholarship funds to students in all phases of their journeys to careers in tech.
Applications will be accepted until June 9, 2024.
