BME church celebrates

Throughout our lives, fads may come and go but one aspect of life that many people will always believe in is their faith in Jesus Christ and the church. For centuries, the church has provided refuge and comfort through famine, wars, plague and natural disasters. Besides providing comfort in troubled times, the church is a sanctuary even in the good times.

With this in mind, the Peel Methodist Church, a division of the British Methodist Episcopal Church (BME), will hold a dinner to celebrate its 19th anniversary. The event will feature a sermon, guest speakers, artists and lots of singing.

"We expect many friends and members of the congregation to join us and we welcome everyone to come and share your gift of song with us," said the Reverend Dr. Jean Burke Markham, Minister in Charge and Pastor of the church.

The celebration will be held on Sunday, September 25 at 3 p.m. within the Thomas A. Becket Anglican Church, 3535 South Common Court, Mississauga (Burnhamthorpe Road, 1.5 blocks west of the Erin Mills Parkway).

A service will be conducted and dinner will be served immediately afterwards in the Northern Hall. A donation of $20 is requested for adults and $10 for children.
